Tuesday, April 11, 2017 Remodeled Georgian Suite open for reservations
The newly remodeled Georgian Suite offers a capacity of 125, expanding the Nebraska Unions room offerings on City Campus.
A remodel began in the summer 2016 and was completed this earlier this spring. The red drapes, dark tones and chandelier lighting synonymous with the older decor were replaced with lighter modern finishes and that match look of other newly renovated spaces like the Big Ten Room and Colonial Room.
While the aesthetics are notable, additional improvements included updated heating, ventilation and air conditioning systems and technology. The suite now offers a computer, drop-down screens, projectors and a camera for web conferences.
“In the end, pretty much all infrastructure items were removed and updated to be more efficient and better meet the needs of event customers in this space,” said Senior Associate Director of Nebraska Unions Ryan Lahne.
A prior remodel of the Georgian Suite was completed in 1988.
The Nebraska Union continues to undergo renovations with improvements on the first floor bathrooms, auditorium and Caffina Cafe to begin next month.
