College is more than going to class.Through extracurricular involvement, students develop skills to complement academic learning and meet societal challenges of their generation.
Nearly 200 students each year are appointed to serve on a variety of committees through the student government. Often these committees mirror faculty committees and report to upper administration.
Innovative activities help students manage stress, understand emotions, build upon strengths, connect with others, develop grit and navigate transitions, preparing students to learn to bounce back from personal challenges.
Encompassing a variety of programs, services and student organizations that address the changing roles of women and men, gender programs advocates for gender equity.
On campus jobs help students build a résumé they can talk about. Nearly 75% of student employees who participated in Husker GROW saw a connection between their job and an academic major or coursework.
From soccer, to dodgeball, broomball and human battleship, our intramural sports encompass every sports interest and level. With more than 70 intramural sports, Nebraska ranks first in the Big Ten for student participation.
