Campus Landmark Honors Legacy of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity

On Friday, Sept. 16, members of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. returned to the University of Nebraska-Lincoln campus to celebrate the milestone of their 100-year-old chapter. Accompanied by family and Eta Chapter supporters, the gentlemen dedicated a 2,000-pound granite stone to the University as a symbol of the strength of the Kappa Alpha Psi as the first historically African-American fraternity at Nebraska.

Weather Doesn't Stop Husker Watch Party

Students and parents gathered to watch the Huskers defeat Northwestern on Sat., Sept. 24 for the Husker Watch Party. The event, which was first scheduled to take place at Memorial Stadium, was moved to the Nebraska Union due to rain. A highly anticipated Campus NightLife event, this year's watch party was co-sponsored by the UNL Parents Association as part of Family Weekend.

New Meeting Room in the Nebraska Union Honors Big Ten

Since the 1970s, the room in the southeast corner of the Nebraska Union housed a bank. However, when Wells Fargo left in February 2015, plans to repurpose the space began—and the end result will be the new Big Ten meeting room.

Union Take Over draws 450 students

On Thurs., Feb. 2, Campus NightLife hosted Union Take Over on the second floor of the Nebraska Union. An estimated 450 students enjoyed laser tag, glow-in-the-dark miniature golf, cupcake and tile decorating, a photo booth, and games of Family Feud led by The Daily Nebraskan. All activities were free for Nebraska students.

RSO workshops provide student groups with tools for success

Student Involvement hosted recognized student organization (RSO) workshops on risk management, motivation and inspiration, civil discourse and navigating the Student Organization Financial Services (SOFS).

Director of Risk Management and Insured Benefits Gayle Schanou, Outdoor Adventure Center Coordinator Todd Grier and Coordinator of Fraternity Life Jon Gayer led the risk management workshop on Feb. 14. The presenters discussed perceived risk and how to be prepared for unexpected situations.
