Wednesday, October 26, 2022 UNL's STEM program gets nearly $1 million to expand offerings

A University of Nebraska-Lincoln program recently received a nearly $1 million grant from the National Science Foundation to expand its science, technology, engineering and mathematics program to first-generation college students from minority groups. The five-year, $999,125 grant also will allow UNL’s School of Biological Sciences and TRIO Upward Bound Math Science Program to retain students enrolled in the STEM-POWER program beyond their first year in college.

Neo, a therapy pup with TRIO programs is lending a paw and his notoriously calming presence this summer to welcome hundreds of first-year students during New Student Enrollment sessions.

Nebraska’s Kristlin Bright, a TRIO graduate assistant from South Sioux City, will earn a master’s degree in counseling psychology during spring 2022 commencement. She plans to start a private practice in psychotherapy.

Wednesday, August 12, 2020 Yellow Robe joins university’s anti-racism journey

A new voice has joined the leaders providing guidance into the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s journey toward addressing anti-racism and racial equity. The group, announced in a July 7 message from Chancellor Ronnie Green, has expanded to include Colette M. Yellow Robe, a member of the Northern Cheyenne Tribe and academic retention specialist for TRIO Programs.
