Wednesday, November 4, 2020 Stress Relief: Helpful activities and tools to relax you before final exams
You may notice increasing demands on your time, attention, and energy as finals week and the end of the semester grow closer. As a result, it’s normal to feel crunched for time or pressured to do well on remaining assignments or exams. Here is a list of things you can do to improve your well-being and decrease harmful stress.
- Relax & ReEnergize + Fresh Check Day
This one-night event will recharge your motivation and provide a needed break from the stress of school. Calm your nerves with relaxing aqua massage beds, oxygen bar, chair massages, and entertainment from 7 to 11 p.m. Friday, November 13 in the Nebraska Union Ballroom and Chimney Rock Room. - Use Your On-campus Well-being Resources
You are not alone. Although it can be difficult to ask for help, letting someone know you need some assistance or support can make a huge difference in your stress levels. Check in with Counseling & Psychological Services (CAPS) for a same-day appointment, or Student Affairs Advocacy & Support to receive guidance on a whole host of challenges, personal hardships, or health-related emergencies. Another alternative: have a relaxed peer-to-peer conversation while taking a Walk with a Well-being Coach. - Get a Massage
The licensed massage therapists at the Campus Recreation Center and the Recreation & Wellness Center offer customized massage services to reduce stress, improve circulation, reduce pain, eliminate toxins, improve flexibility, improve sleep and reduce fatigue. Schedule an appointment to relax and enjoy the benefits. - Take in a Yoga Class
Offered as part of Campus Rec's fitness class schedule, yoga is a perfect way to soothe your nerves and practice mindfulness. This low-impact form of exercise can refresh your mind and give you a calming break from studying. Yoga is offered at both the Campus Rec Center on City Campus and the Rec & Wellness Center on East Campus.
