Friday, January 13, 2023 Staff Spotlight: Melissa Wulf
Welcoming students, faculty and staff with a warm smile and joyous laughter, Melissa Wulf enjoys her daily interactions as she assists with testing accommodations and oversees the SSD Testing Center in Louise Pound Hall.
Wulf has served in her role as testing center coordinator for more than 23 years. From proctoring exams in overcrowded testing rooms in Canfield to coordinating paper exams in the new testing center in Pound Hall, Wulf’s role continues to evolve based on students’ needs, yet her passion for creating equitable academic experiences remains steadfast.
“My goal is that everyone who walks in the Testing Center feels welcome and less-stressed,” says Wulf. “I’m fortunate to partner with an engaging staff who are equally dedicated to the complexities, challenges and rewards of disabilities services.”
She says the most rewarding aspects of her work include coordinating the fast-paced and problem-solving scenarios of test taking. No two days are the same.
And if she looks familiar, maybe you saw her during her five seconds of childhood fame? When she was young, Wulf had the opportunity as a child to be on the Kalamity Kate show, a popular children’s program that was part of KOLN/KGIN-TV’s “Cartoon Corral” from 1967-1980.
