Congratulations to Deb Johnson, senior associate director at Campus Recreation, for earning the distinguished Carl A. Donaldson Award from the University Association for Administrative Development.
"Deb has always been an advocate for life-long learning; therefore, she encourages her staff members to seek professional development opportunities, i.e. attend seminars, institutes, conferences, webinars, taking classes, attending presentations, becoming members of committees, giving presentations, conducting research, writing articles, etc.," said co-nominator Stan Campbell, associate vice chancellor and director of Campus Recreation.
"I believe the most significant impact Deb has on the University community is that she continually strives to improve Campus Recreation and therefore the student experience," said Campbell.
“Deb’s strengths include her ability to figure out how all the pieces and resources can be arranged for maximum productivity. Her ability to be flexible and adaptable compliments her skills in putting all the pieces in the right spots," said co-nominator Vicki Highstreet, associate director for recreation programming at Campus Recreation.
Since 1972 the Donaldson Award has recognized excellence in management at UNL. The award is named for Carl A. Donaldson, a graduate of the University of Nebraska who devoted his entire career to University service. Donaldson founded the UAAD in 1961 to further leadership, networking, professional development and growth for the University's managerial and professional employees.
