Monday, October 25, 2021 3 ways to improve your college experience next year
College offers the unique experience of living with friends, exploring a variety of on-campus events, and growing through your academic experiences and campus/community involvement. It’s never too early to start thinking about how you hope to improve that experience in 2022-23.
-
Save time by living close to your classes
Living close to classes will be beneficial every time it's cold outside, or when you need to run home and grab a necessary item. Note to mention, when you’re close to classes, you’re also close to campus events, libraries, resources, and arts and athletics events. There’s always something going on within a 10-minute walk! - Keep your dining options open
While cooking can be fun, it can also become a strain. On-campus and off-campus meal plans are available to all students. Have a big exam coming up? No worries -- a meal plan can offer back time from grocery shopping, cooking or searching for off-campus meal options. Flexible meal plans include meals that can be used at any of the campus dining halls, including the 8+ allergen-friendly option at Harper Dining Center, Husker Heroes and the Selleck Food Court. They also include Dining Dollars with access to Herbie’s Markets and most vendors in the Nebraska Unions. - Stay close to your community
College is a special time to experience the support of those around you. You've got the rest of your life to live alone in a house or apartment, but now you can enjoy the comradery of friends just down the hall. Second-year students also can elect to live in a learning community.
2022-23 housing contracts are now open! Rooms are available on a first-come, first-served basis. Sign your contract to access these on-campus benefits and get the most out of your experience.
To learn more about on-campus housing options, attend the Open House event on November 1. You’ll be able to tour rooms in apartments and suites as well as get your questions answered.
