It will showcase contributions to campus, allow faculty members to advise current students on challenges they may face as new professionals, and provide an opportunity for undergraduate students to network with each other. Rhapsody in Black

Following a powerful Lied Center performance in 2016, writer/actor Leland Gantt presents an inspiring and thought-provoking online production as part of the Lied Center’s MOSAIC Series. In this one-man theatrical performance, Gantt processes a lifetime struggling with what it means to be Black while deconstructing notions of race and realigning perspectives. This is a FREE virtual event, but registration is required.
Workshop: Polishing your Presentation Skills

Join the Center for Entrepreneurship for this free workshop with Dr. Kyle Gibson, associate director. The workshop is part of a series preparing students for the annual New Venture Competition, held April 12-13. Having a clear and polished presentation that contains the right amount of information can eliminate much of the pressure that comes with pitching your business to strangers. Participants will discuss what to include in your presentation and how to properly tailor it for any audience.
Women at Nebraska: Experiences & Intersectionality Panel

Continuing the Chancellor’s Diversity Commissions’ intersectionality panel series, the Chancellor’s Commission on the Status of Women is excited to celebrate Women’s History Month by hosting “Women at Nebraska: Experiences and Intersectionality.” The panel will feature Professors Anna Shavers and Helen Fagan, J. M. Lewis, and Saisha Adhikari, who will discuss their experiences as faculty, staff and student women at Nebraska through the various intersectional lenses they hold. Dr. Nkenge Friday will serve as moderator. All are welcome to attend.

Demetruis Harmon

Demetrius Harmon is a singular and pioneering voice in mental health advocacy. Demetrius channels his experiences dealing with suicide and depression, sharing his journey candidly with his combined social audience of nearly 3 million. Over the course of seven years, Demetrius has created comedy skits with poignant messages, led public speaking events across the United States, developed a successful apparel brand, and constructed a community meet-up series to create a safe space without judgement and bring his community together. During this virtual event, Demetrius will create a positive and entertaining environment while sharing his talents with the UNL community. This event is free for UNL students who register to attend on NvolveU.
Picture a Scientist Q&A with Willenbring and Cheney

The Association for Women in Science will host a watch party for "Picture a Scientist: Q&A with Dr. Jane Willenbring and Co-Director Ian Cheney," a recorded discussion with the associate professor of geological sciences at Stanford University and the co-director of the film. Topics covered in the Q&A will be different types of harassment, how allies can help support women and minority scientists, and suggestions for policy changes that organizations could take. Breakout sessions will follow to discuss the movie, the Q&A, and to share individual perspectives.
IES Spring Celebration: Colloquium on Racial Justice – Tiffany Midge Lecture, “Attack of the Fifty-foot (Lakota) Woman”

Tiffany Midge is a citizen of the Standing Rock Sioux Nation and was raised by wolves in the Pacific Northwest. Her 2019 memoir, Bury My Heart at Chuck E. Cheese’s, was a notable book pick for Lit Hub, Poets & Writers Magazine, Library Journal, Spokane Is Reading, Book Riot, Book List, Kirkus, She Reads, Tribal College Journal, High Country News, and more. A former humor columnist for Indian Country Today, Midge holds an MFA from the University of Idaho and has taught composition and creative writing at Northwest Indian College.
